Safe AI, in practice
Most AI problems in companies come from the same few mistakes.
Where AI projects go wrong
Data leaves the company without anyone deciding it should. Staff paste customer or employee data into free tools, and nobody knows where it goes.
A demo becomes the business. An app generated in an afternoon starts handling real customers, with no security review, no backups and nobody who understands the code.
The system talks to customers and nobody checks it. Wrong answers, invented promises and tone problems reach customers directly.
Nobody owns it. The person who built it leaves, and the company depends on something it cannot maintain or switch off.
Rules were an afterthought. GDPR, consent, recording laws and the EU AI Act are checked after launch instead of before.
Six checks on every project
Data
What data is used, where it is processed, who the processor is, and whether the contract and legal basis cover it.
Purpose and risk
What the system is for, what could go wrong, and how bad it would be. Higher risk gets more safeguards.
Human oversight
Where a person reviews, approves or takes over. Customers can always reach a human.
Security
Secrets, access rights and exposed endpoints reviewed before anything goes live.
Logging and reversibility
You can see what the system did, test changes safely and switch it off without breaking the business.
People and ownership
A named owner in your company, a plain AI policy and training for staff. You own the code, accounts and documentation.
The rules that apply
I design for GDPR and for the EU AI Act, including the duty to support AI literacy among staff, and for national rules on calls and recordings where voice is involved. This page is general information, not legal advice. Where you need a binding opinion, I work with your lawyer.
What I will not do
- Connect AI to customer data without a clear legal basis and a processing agreement
- Promise to replace your staff
- Put an unreviewed AI system in front of your customers
- Recommend a tool because a vendor pays me to
- Leave you dependent on me
